Priority Alert

Used in conjunction with either the Bulletin or Advisor Graphix units, the Priority Alert service allows the user to recognise specifically targeted messages while the pager is in silent mode.

The Priority Alert will override the silent mode by either an audible or vibrate alert, to notify the user of an important message.

On the Advisor Graphix pager the audible tone is that distinguishes the message as a Priority Alert. The message ‘Emergency Call’ will also appear on the pager.

Features and Benefits

  • Standard messages or group messages can be received in complete silence, giving the user the ability to read and review their messages when convenient.
  • This results in minimal user disturbance, as only a Priority Alert has to be read immediately.
  • The service may be set to either individual numbers or group numbers, allowing you to contact individuals or specific teams of people, for example critical response teams.

Typical Applications

The service can be used to inform senior managers of incidents or critical information whilst in meetings and not normally contactable. Shift workers will also benefit from this service, as it will allow you to contact them during periods when they may be asleep. In the event of a priority message being received, a full history will be available to them to review on screen, informing them why they have been contacted.

A more recent application, currently being tested, is to inform train drivers to immediately STOP their vehicles. This is achieved by sending a Priority Alert direct to the personal number of the pager, instructing the driver to take immediate action.

When stopped, the driver is then safely able to review normal messages, explaining why they have been told to stop. Subsequent messages may then be sent to instruct the user about the actions they must now take.
