Competition & Markets Authority decision to refer PageOne acquisition of Vodafone Paging customers to a phase 2 investigation

By 11th May 2017November 8th, 2022Newswire

PageOne is disappointed with the CMA decision to refer its proposed acquisition of Vodafone paging customers to an in-depth phase two investigation and as a result will no longer be pursuing the merger.

PageOne stands by its belief that the proposed merger was in the best interests of customers for wide-area public paging in the UK, and respects Vodafone’s decision to pursue the closure of its own paging network as a result of the CMA’s decision.

PageOne has been operating national paging services on its own independent paging network for 30 years and provides a range of integrated messaging services to corporate, government and public safety organisations across the UK.

We will continue to invest and innovate in our paging and critical messaging infrastructure and services to support our customers into the long-term, and we welcome any opportunity to assist those Vodafone customers who wish to retain paging services.
